People working to support young people and families are essential for our community to thrive and there is plenty of support for you to!

Mentoring

Mentoring can help vulnerable and isolated young people to regain confidence and build self-esteem. Our mentoring services support young people who are not having their needs met elsewhere. We are able to build safe relationships and encourage new experiences, all while supporting with wellbeing, socialisation, education support and access to physical activity.

If you are supporting a young person who would benefit from our mentoring services, find out more here or get in contact with us.

Counselling

Ignite has two different types of counselling services, 1:1 counselling for young people and family support counselling. Our 1:1 counselling for young people is adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of each young person. We follow a person-centred approach and use play therapy, art therapy and talk therapy. We aim to create an accessible space which removes any of the intimidation that 1:1 counselling can bring, therefore, we encourage young people to take part in activities that they enjoy while having their counselling, such as cooking, crafts and games.

Our family support counselling allows a 1-2 family members to access counselling support with their young person while engaging in positive and meaningful experiences such as cooking and crafts.

If you are supporting a young person or family who would benefit from our counselling services, find out more here or get in contact with us.

Food Support Services

Our food support services help families in food poverty by helping them to access food and essential items such as toiletries, sanitary products, and cleaning products. Ignite delivers weekly food parcels and opened a food bank in August 2022. Our food bank does not require a referral or vouchers, we aim to be accessible to all. All people need to do is come during our opening hours, meet with a volunteer and they will be supported with a shop.

If you are supporting a family who would benefit from our food support services, find out more here or get in contact.

their stories

Ignite believes in raising the voices of the people we support.

We are working hard to include young people and families in the design of our services to ensure we are constantly listening and responding to their wants and needs.

Their stories are important to us and we will always provide the time and space to listen to them.

H's Story

Ignite provided mentoring sessions to H during school holidays which included trips such as GoApe! H has autism and anxiety challenges and with the support of his two amazing mentors, and the donations we have received, we were able to provide life changing opportunities which gave H the chance to overcome anxieties of trying new things!
